GREENWOOD CHESS 2010 SCHOLASTIC GRAND PRIX (GP)

JOIN THE FUN

Greenwood Dairy Queen

• 12 tournaments – 1 each month - only play in tournaments you chose
• Compete for points with players near your grade and/or skill level
• Earn one GP point for attending each tournament - (no BYE points for rounds requested)
• BYE Points for old-numbered player - (no points for requested BYE)
• Points accumulate for 3 months
• Guaranteed prize and one GP point for each player at each event
• Earn 6 GP points and receive special player award
• Nice 1^st place prize awarded at each monthly tournament
• GREAT 1^st place prize awarded every 3^rd  month for the Grand Prix

Low Cost: 

• $3 all student chess players
• $2 scholastic member of US Chess Federation or Greenwood Chess Club

Advance notification is not required, simply show up ! 

Cool Prizes:

• Tournament - 1^st place gold medal – awarded each month
•  Grand Prix – awarded every 3^rd month – May & Aug & Nov & Feb
• 1^st place GP - choice - trophy OR gift certificate (USCF Sales chess store)
• 2^nd place GP silver medal
• 3^rd place GP bronze medal

Time Control & Format

1-2, 3-4 (similar to ladder)

G/25 – no time delay - 3 rounds per tournament / 9 rounds per Grand Prix

A non-US Chess Federation event.

Times & Dates:

Door open 10:30 & registration ends 10:45 & awards 2:30 (or earlier)

R1 11am – R2 12pm – (30 min lunch break) – R3 1:30

Four (4) Grand Prix in 2010

•  Spring:          Mar 20, Apr 24, May 22
•  Summer:       Jun 19, Jul 24, Aug 21
•  Fall:              Sep, Oct, Nov
•  Winter:         Dec, Jan, Feb
